Transcendentalism is a self belief of equal rights of God, Man, and Nature. Born in the 30s, transcendentalism held high views for feminism and anti-slavery.
'Tis Opposites -- entice --
Deformed Men -- ponder Grace --
Bright fires -- the Blanketless --
The Lost -- Day's face -- The Blind -- esteem it be
Enough Estate -- to see --
The Captive -- strangles new --
For deeming -- Beggars -- play -- To lack -- enamor Thee --
Tho' the Divinity --
Be only
Me --
- Emily Dickinson
This poem relates to transcendentalism because it is describing how the things that need to change are not good. This was a time people believed everyone shout be equal. This poem describes how there are poor people who don't have anything compared to the wealthier group.
